Same Day Appointments
As part of an on-going review of our appointment system and in order to improve patient access we will be changing the way you can book appointments. Patients need to ring at 8am where all appointments for that day will be allocated.
As we have a team of Doctors and Nurse Practitioners you will be asked the reason for your visit to enable our reception team to allocate you the most appropriate appointment. The Practice is keen to ensure that patients are able to consult the most suitable clinician. There has been a public perception that nurses are second best. Research shows that nurses can deal effectively with minor illness and appropriately refer to the doctors if needed.
Non-urgent advice: Notice
If you need to book ahead, prescription queries or get results please telephone after 10.30am. We will be unable to deal with the request before then. Same day appointments are for urgent medical problems and Not for repeat prescriptions, sick notes or routine referrals.
Routine appointments to see a doctor or nurse of your choice can be made by telephoning the appointment number 020 8445 7587 between 10am and 6.30pm. Appointments are also available to book online via patient access for 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, 7 days, 14 days, 21 days and 28 days a head. These are released at 8am and 6.30pm daily.
You may also make an appointment in person between these hours. These appointments are booked at intervals of 10 minutes. Every effort is made to keep to these times. However, we are sure you will understand that there will be occasions when this overruns. Please make a separate appointment if more than one member of the family is to be seen.
If you cannot keep your appointment for whatever reason, please ring, text or cancel online as this frees up an appointment for someone else who needs it. We lose between 10 – 20 appointments every week because people fail to keep their appointments and do not inform us in advance.
Telephone Consultations are available with a clinician if you are unable to get a same day emergency appointment or if there is something you would like to discuss with a GP or Practice Nurse rather than making a pre-booked appointment, for example:
- Renewal of a ‘Fit Note’
Please note that for non urgent issues your telephone consultation may not be on the same day. If you have any queries about your referral please visit our ‘Referrals’ page before contacting the Surgery.
